Breed Information
English Bulldogs are small in stature, but wide and compact with a thick, massive head. Their life expectancy is 8-10 years. Some bulldogs may live longer while others may live shorter lives. There is no prescribed height for bulldogs but they are typically 12-16 inches tall and weigh between 50-60 pounds when full grown.

English Bulldogs are great for apartment and family life. They are very inactive and will do fine without a yard but will enjoy playing outside if a yard is available. They are considered an indoor dog and must have a temperature controlled living environment. They do not tolerate the heat and humidity or the extreme cold so a proper living environment is necessary.

Some English Bulldogs would prefer not to exercise while others are full of energy. In either case, bulldogs need to be taken on a daily walk or allowed to have playtime in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Grooming for English Bulldogs is very easy because of their smooth, fine short coat and average amount of shedding. Combing, brushing and bathing when necessary will keep your bulldog clean and happy. Wiping their face every other day with a damp cloth or wet wipes will keep their wrinkles clean and free of infection. Applying corn starch in the wrinkle after cleaning will keep the wrinkles clean and dry.

The appearance of the English Bulldogs can be very intimidating, however, they are one of the most gentle breeds. They are very affectionate, dependable, loyal and very gentle with children and other pets. Bulldogs are very much a family pet and will enjoy all of the attention you can give them!
